Born in Columbia, South America and raised in New York City, Cielo majored in Fine Arts at Herbert Lehman College and Henry Street Settlement in New York City.

Cielo's studies focused on painting portraits, landscapes, seascapes, animal portraits, flowers and still life.

In 2002, Cielo's avid interest in the diverse manner in which art is expressed in its various forms caused her to investigate the delights decorative art. Since then, Cielo has specialized in and become certified in several aspects of this art form.

Daniel Greene, Bob Ross, Gary Jenkins, Katherine Jenkins, Mary Carole, Dana Jester, and Donna Dewberry are some of the national artists with whom Cielo has studied.
